"We are both lifelong musicians, with very different perspectives. The idea for the "Mirrors" was to choose five subjects,
and we would each create five pieces without any idea of what the other was doing. The subjects, or themes, were chosen accidentally,
according to what came to our minds at that time. The album came to life over the span of several years, according to a "when it is done,
it is done" principle. Well, now it is done and we both wish you a pleasant audio journey!"

NOTES FROM JOHN

Pluto! - This was written in honor of the flyby of the (former) planet a few years ago. It has a very “steampunk” feel, with old solenoid switches and primitive sounds of electromagnetic fields.

Ants - A salute to our small friends, doing what they do so well, with special guest appearances by bees, hummingbirds, and humans doing some of the sh*t they do…

Mushrooms! - Recently I composed a piece about drought and fire; here is one about water and the moist fertile soil that mushrooms grow in. And it is also about how human beings talk too damned much.

Wildfire - This is a dark time of drought and huge fires in California where I live. I composed a fantasy about life in a fire zone.

Birds - Three minutes with birds are three minutes well-spent. Travelling with them would be such a pleasure…

Ants - A look into the ant-hill. Mature, intelligent, organized society and its daily life. When you take a close look, you will doubt mankind´s superiority.

Mushrooms - Deep in a cave. Darkness, humidity, silence. It is all they need. I am one of them now, proliferating, growing. Drops are my companions, an insect tickles with its wings.

Age Of Drought - We are standing in front of an old, abandoned ranch in the middle of nowhere. People had gone a long time ago and what is left slowly dies and decomposes.

Bird World Blues - World of birds, their dialogues, their songs, their daily life. What is it like to be one of them?
